Everywhere I went in Ukraine, I was treated with kindness and generosity. I've been all over the world and have never seen hospitality on the level the Ukrainians offered.

42 years ago, I picked up a National Geographic magazine at the library and read an article about Machu Picchu. I was instantly hooked on all things Inca related. Finally, I was able to cross Machu Picchu off the top of my bucket list.

I just learned today that saying your going to “watch Netflix and chill” doesn’t mean your going to watch Netflix and chill. Now I’m replaying in my mind all the times I’ve said it. People must think my life is a lot more exciting than what it is.
24 years ago, on November 25th, 2000 at 3:00am, I was finishing up a night of bartending. The left side of my body went numb because I had a stroke. During the time after, there were moments I thought I was dying and moments I wanted to die. I’m always a little extra thankful this time of year.
When life gets tough, I go get ink therapy.
During my long runs leading up to the marathon, I listened to Dylan Thomas poetry at a point when I didn’t want to go on. Having “Do not go gentle into that good night” on my arm seems appropriate.
