I agree, but every politician who would do that would lose the next election. Russia is very good at scaring people. People want to live in the illusion of peace.

Trump managed to put a big question mark over NATO. NATO would easily beat Russia with airpower, but that would risk a nuclear war. I'd argue if they had let Ukraine in after 2014 it wiuld have stopped the war. Now Europe needs to step up.

Well, considering the German army hardly has any weapons (thanks to Merkel) they are doing pretty well. But I hear you and agree that more could be done. But how do we get there. We have a lot of selfish and stupid voters.

But we also have plenty of young Ukrainian men in Europe who don't want to fight. But in general people close their eyes and just want to acknowledge that war might come to them no matter what. Better to fight it with Ukraine on our side..

It is infuriating. But there are also still a lot of people who are committed to your cause. It is a general problem of rich democracies. As soon as politicians threaten Russia with war they will lose the next election. Also only 20% of young Germans are willing to fight for their country.
