Havent used #claudecode for awhile as i've been prompting directly in the desktop app.

I'm trying to set it up now, i had a stale setup with an old inactive account. Cleared everything out, but i still cant get it to authenticate in #vscode. Seems to be a bug, i may have to uninstall VSCODE..?

I'm going with a VPS setup to keep it isolated. Will report back how things are going. My goal this weekend is to get my marketing manager online so i can focus on dev next week, but not neglect marketing while i build.

I then asked it to format into html. It added citation tags, after asking to remove the tags it completely left out several clauses...needless to say my confidence in the output was shaken...

A month ago everyone was saying google was going to win the AI race...back to claude opus 4.5!

It created my version which was about 2 pages long.

When i asked it if this was comprehensive enough and pointed out the page number discrepancy it said, oh your right and produced a new longer version which was...also 2 pages long...

Absolutely butchered the task.

I instructed it, with a very detailed prompt, to generate legal terms for me based on my input + 3 other examples with an average of 20 pages each...

What happened to Gemini?

I have been mostly using #claude sonnet in my day to day with occasional #chatgpt.

Today i had a very complex task of creating legal terms and using several sources as examples.

I had not used #gemini in awhile but had good results with it in the past for complex tasks...

Going into 2026 feeling very positive.

Late 2025 was rough — but momentum is already back. Some slowdowns were just the holidays doing what they do.

Direction is clear.

- Have a backlog of concepts now, but ruthless about maintaining focus (1 at a time)

- Very little income the past 8 months
- Hard not to spread myself too thin
- Had to cut back on projects to increase focus
- Had to part ways with 1 project & Co-founder
- Had to turn projects down with friends to maintain focus

Progress isn’t linear, but it is directional.

Since starting this account and my AI-assisted development journey, I’ve had both wins and setbacks.

Yet when you measure over time and learning, the median trendline is undeniably positive.

That instead of modifying the claude_desktop_config.json as per claude's suggestion, you can just do it in the desktop app settings. 😉

The Claude documentation it produced was pretty thorough.

My first time really putting Claude to the test on a bigger documentation task.

I have setup the Github MCP server access and asked Claude to do a thorough documentation across 3 separate Github repos. Will report back with how it goes!
