I really enjoyed seeing a spotlight shone on such a unique little corner of history.

Still thinking about this film.

I really enjoyed it as someone who grew up going to Christian schools--we never really knew what to do with groups like The Shakers. They were technically Christian, but they were super weird and didn't fit with what we were taught about the bible.

Do your kids like it? My kids LOVE playing with legos, but they were really put off by the aesthetic of the Mario set. Lots of "Why does he look like THAT?"

A powered off LEGO Mario figure. HIs eyes and mouth are blank black screens and he looks terrifying.

I've heard that kids like these figures, but they don't match the "traditional" LEGO aesthetic, and they look horrifying when they are not powered on.

LEGO interactive figures of Mario, Peach, and Luigi

For those not in the know, LEGO started making Super Mario sets in 2020. Most of the sets have featured an "interactive" figure (initially of Mario, but later of Luigi or Peach as well).

In my writing & speaking about Pentecostal-charismatic leaders around Trump, I'm often asked if Trump buys into any of these modern prophecies about him or is even aware of what they say.

I generally say: Yes, he's very aware & does seem to buy in at some level.

Here's my new Exhibit A:

I thought it was pretty great (my only mark against it is an overreliance on voiceover narration). Hard to compare it to Hamnet emotionally. I'll be curious to hear your thoughts!

I'm sorry, but I still contend that using AI for your logo as a small business owner just makes you look lazy.

I get that he's made some good films, but I've always found him repulsive as a person.

also: they've been able to do this (badly, granted) for a couple of years now? Remember all of the "____ in the Style of Wes Anderson" videos we all had to endure?

This was fun! Although I would imagine the screen you're using could make a big difference.

What a cursed existence, really. She's bolted to the sink, so she can't even hop around like the rest of the enchanted objects.

I want to know her story.

a miserable looking anthropomorphized faucet washes the dishes while Mrs. Potts the teapot gleefully dances by, blissfully unaware of the faucet's dejected state in a scene from Disney's Beauty and the Beast (1991)

I am once again thinking about the poor faucet in Beauty and the Beast.

(I still have a cold)

Had a dream there was an emoji like πŸ’― except it was only 60. Some post said "popeyes fries be tasting so good (60)" and I laughed so hard I woke myself up

Thinking about the 60 emoji again

I absolutely love it when Phyllis has Angela under her thumb in The Office.

The only thing close would be right-wing grifters like Dean Caine or Jim Caviezel. However, I'm more willing to believe that they have a good performance left deep down somewhere inside of them that I am to believe the same about Corden.
