I did it, y’all! Passed my Praxis reading with a 192/200 and math with 196/200! Absolutely crushed it! Those are technically unofficial scores-final results plus writing grades will be released in August, but the fact remains-I passed! 🤩

A holiday week and long weekend, and my professor gave us double the work-two full chapters. Ughhhh I am stressing.

Any tips for a “No Spend” month? I’m trying to make and save as much money as possible so that I’m prepared to survive student teaching.

Because being a substitute teacher, in grad school, and full time parenting wasn’t enough… ya girl went and got herself another part time job. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Gotta keep the hustle going if I’m going to get this dang license. Prepping myself financially for when I student teacher and can’t work.

Woohoo, the kiddos come home today! And next week, I’ll be saying woohoo, the kiddos go to their dad’s today! Welcome to summer schedule. 😂

It’s being handled by the courts and there’s a 20% interest on backpay, so I’m just letting them take care of it for now. They’ll take his tax refund, won’t let him renew his license, etc. Not that he seems to care.

He’s also behind thousands on child support but bought her a $$$ puppy from a breeder for her birthday.

This is the same man who once dressed her in his adult male clothing, using a rope to tie the waist band of her “pants” b/c they were made for a 40 y/o man and not an 11 y/o girl, b/c I’d forgotten to pack her overnight bag. Yanno, instead of taking her to the store to get 3 days’ worth of clothes.

My daughter wears custom made bathing suits b/c she’s trans and they “protect her modesty.” My ex took the kids on a waterpark vacation & swore he had last summer’s suit for her to wear, that she’d tried it on and it still fit. This was, in fact, a lie. Now, she’s wearing some off the rack nonsense.

Grades are 1. not an indication of a child’s worth 2. not a judgement on parents. Is your child kind, respectful, and helpful? Are you attentive, patient, and supportive? Life is so much more than grades and it is easy to lose sight of that, especially as end-of-year assessments roll in.

Fun fact: I’ve ridden in the Goodyear Blimp 3 times.

One of my student’s parents wrote to me, “[My child] says you are fun and silly, but never let the class get too out of control.” 🤣 I’ll take it! 💜

School’s out for summer and I am basically unemployed, now. 😅

This school year put me through the wringer. I was a long-term substitute for kg-1st special ed, fourth grade, and fifth. Each quarter was very long. I am burnt out and beat up. But, the number one thing I’m coming out of this year with is: teaching is the right career for me.

Opted for dine-in at the further location. It was nice, though the bar was full so I had to sit solo at a table. I don’t love taking up someone’s four-top but I think my dining and tipping habits make up for the lost plates.

I’m a full time parent, student, and teacher. There is no room in my life for dating. I don’t have the desire or energy to date. But. I miss cuddles and someone to share events with. I’m very good at being solo, but miss the enrichment of a companion.

I’ve been happily single for four years, but feelings of loneliness and boredom are creeping in. Not sure if I’m actually craving companionship or just need a med check after a particularly cold and rainy spring. 😅

My favorite restaurant has two locations in my city. One is closer to my house, but has crappy service, the other is further away, but the service is potentially better. Which spot do I go to?

I knew I did not want my current position when I accepted it because it was way too much work for the pay. I was told if I wanted to further my career with my employer, it was strongly advised to take the gig. Just three more days. Friends, I haven’t been this stressed since my divorce.

I am hanging on by a thread right now. My mental health is tanked, my energy, sapped. All I want to do is shut down and sleep but I have to keep pushing for one more week. I expected this but there’s nothing I could actually do to prepare. Just have to white knuckle it.

Update: he’s spending 90 days in jail due to priors.

Yeah, they’ve been asleep the whole time and didn’t catch any of the commotion. I do have to warn them that they cannot interact with the neighbors, now, though.

I should be asleep right now, but a DV situation spilled into my front yard, I had to deal with cops, and my neighbor threatened me. Adrenaline is way too high.
