You ALMOST had to wait longer... Ed's been busy drumming for some other bands, Chris has been busy with work (he's in Zurich for a conference right now, in fact), and I've been busy getting ready for my wedding... but November (with another cool cover before then) seems doable now!

They are a rare breed, it's true... but still just as highly valued as any other (more so, in this instance, as it happens).

I also went for a more "purist" version... just because I think Melodic/Technical/Progressive styles have more than spun off into their own thing, with their own criteria for excellence, etc, so it didn't make sense to pick a "top 5" that were all being judged on different things.

This officially makes it our most successful video yet... so we should do something special to commemorate this event, right?

Bah, all music just sounds the same these days... like a non-stop, high-pitched ringing noise that never seems to go away. I don't get it.

Vader were also well up there for me.

Sheer weight and mass of music also has a major impact... hard for a band I *love* right now, who only have an album or two to their name, to compete with a couple of decades of pure, crushing power.
