YSS and the Statistics and the Law section are organising a talk (online/in-person at UCL) by Prof Jane Hutton on the reward challenges of expert witness work as a statistician ✨, contributing to civil and criminal courts and serving society 🤝.

Chaired by our president Sir John Aston, our next Discussion Meeting will discuss our journal paper on the statistical aspects of the Covid-19 response.

Special thank to the Celebrating Diversity SIG for their support 🤠✨! We will organise other panel discussions moving forward on professional developments topics, focusing on different diverse groups.

We are open to your opinions and suggestions 🤗💪.

Although the focus of the session will be on female professionals with family caring duties, we believe that others will be benefited by learning how these professionals overcame challenges 🏔️, progressed their career 📝 and supported their family members and loved ones 💞.

This session will bring together three women from the various sectors (industry, academia and government) in statistics and data science. 👩‍🏫👩‍💻

We invite you to learn from their insights and ask them questions you have in mind. ℹ️🎈

The first YSS event in 2025 will happen next week (3 March 3-4 pm) ✨

The online panel session will include discussions of maintaining work and family balance for female professionals, ahead of the International Women's Day (8 March) 👩!
