@groomb.bsky.social I loved your Northerners book. I need to check out the others. π
No mow May appears to work. Verge in front of our house in the Peak District has a new flowering plant a common spotted orchid. Stopped mowing two years ago. Letβs hope the numbers increase in the coming years.

Great to see this research covered by the BBC - looking forward to seeing what we discover from all the data that were collected last month! Nice work by @isobelyeo.bsky.social on radio and TV interviews!
It is Friday Ian. So carte Blanche.

I feel your pain. I did mine part time, remotely. Took me 6 years. Initially I wanted to be finished before I was 30. By the end I just wanted to still be in my 30βs.
Hang in there you will be fine.
There is a fourth book. The age of extremes. It is excellent as the others were. Enjoy when you do read it.

Life is about the opportunities you are given and how you use them. This bursary scheme is a brilliant way in which a relatively small amount of money can make a difference in someoneβs life. Thank you WestP&I

Delighted to see this new paper led by PhD student Jack Williams out in Nature Geoscience - itβs been a fun journey bringing two project datasets together (COMICS and CUSTARD) to show that diatoms are not always as efficient at transferring carbon as we thought! www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Thank you Sheila. Certainly much friendlier than the other place. The feeds the algorithm was sending were getting darker and darker. Hope all is well with you π
After 4 years of going to Tromso in November (project advisory board) and never seeing the aurora. A few weeks ago I went outside my house in the peaks to see this. Amazing.
Yes I agree with the latest comment. This is Himalayan Balsam. It is indeed a very invasive species in the U.K. multiple environmental impacts from this species. Not least of all the fact it pulls bees away from natural species and they therefore donβt get pollinated.

Woke to winter this morning in the peaks. Beautiful but already melting.
@glibbyglopglooby.bsky.social always happy to make new friends. Thank you for your message. π
@chelseyabaker.bsky.social my first follower. Thank you Chelsey. Just joined as I am finding X a nightmare place. Hope all is well at NOC and with yourself of course π
Just joined from the other place. Like many others I found the other place seemed to filled with anti-science and conspiracy driven tweets. Looking forward to finding old friends on here.
