This also shows that things are not as hopeless as they may seem. I have no doubt that the backlash from the public, scientists, and federal workers played a big role in Congress saying no to drastic cuts.

It even increases funding for the National Weather Service to help shore up their staffing! All in all, this is a big win for Science. I am pleased to see the Congress has come to realize the importance of science and the benefits it has on our lives.
