The obstruction of ambitious/adequate climate action by the building construction and real estate industry is barely mentioned and almost completely unstudied in the social science literature.

We found they were major spenders on lobbying in state legislatures, but this city-level action is key.

Folks, I too am unsurprised that oil companies hijacked this process. I am one of the reporters who has been covering that effort for the past several years. The point is not to surprise, it’s to document, which then hopefully informs legislation, litigation, change, etc.

This is the first bird extinction in mainland Europe in 500 years.

1400 birds are globally threatened with extinction.

230 are Critically Endangered.

The Slender-billed Curlew is just the latest in over 200 bird extinctions since 1500. 😢🪶🧪
