the customers where i work at have been getting really ballsy lately and a few instances have occurred where they came up to the window to the kitchen and tried to say something to the cooks. PSA to literally everyone: dont do that just talk to your server instead please for the love of god

its really easy to confuse discipline with pushing yourself past your limits, or at least it is for me. over 10 years of being a digital artist and im just now realizing if i try drawing and my brain immediately turns to static mush then im not lazy, i just need a break. who would have thought
i took like a week off of drawing and came back to it and came back and suddenly im better and faster than i was before. i feel like advice about art on the internet is so slanted towards doing it all the time ideally every day that its easy to forget that the way out of burnout is rest not force

sorry to keep on like this. its also the little organizational things that matter to me. i re-opened obsidian with a fresh rested mind and became immediately frustrated with the fact that i cant manually reorder folders/files because it uses a file explorer-esque system and closed it again

obsidian IS customizable, actually more than notion, but in a different way that makes my pea sized brain hurt. it also requires way more markdown which isnt something i like to have to worry about when note taking
i guess im sticking to notion... i like the blocks...
oh yeah. re-installed it and it still has data for when i first opened it, tried making a landing page for my notes for C3, then uninstalled it because i couldnt make it look pretty LMAO the artist's curse
i've tried it before but i remember the thing i specifically didnt like about it was that it wasn't as customizable or as intuitive. with notion i can make like, multi-column wiki pages with sidebars and stuff
i've been using notion to keep track of my creative projects for yeeeaaars but it runs like absolute shit on my pc and takes a chunk out of my cpu when its just running in the background not even open... its a shame cuz i love it but i guess i'll give obsidian a shot

i know a project has me in a chokehold when it has me willingly drawing out of my comfort zone. why am i designing guns right now
i was gonna put text on them that says "when someone is so hateful it inspires you to be kinder" vs "when someone is so kind it actually disgusts you" but i couldnt figure out a readable composition for it so now theyre just standing next to each other. enjoy

im working on a webcomic that ive been planning to make for years (that i will hopefully finish even one chapter of) and the actual process of putting a story on paper is weirdly surreal. i can just make the characters do whatever i want. and no one can stop me? really?
