Construction of new controlled pedestrian crossing with associated localised resurfacing of carriageway and footway expected to commence between 8th and 16th September next month on Lanark Road from Kingsknowe over to Dovecot Park.

Good to hear Scottish Water will meet with @drscottarthurmp.bsky.social to learn more about what has happened here. The Water of Leith is a prized asset in our community, and many others. Concerning that waste can make it into the river and pollute it.

Edinburgh safety experts called in as 'globular substance' found in Water of Leith After multiple dogs were allegedly made ill, SEPA has confirmed the substance was fat. Scottish Water has arranged for the deposits to be removed.

SEPA have confirmed the substance found in the Water of Leith yesterday is fat. Concerning that has made its way into the river. Scottish Water will now attend to remove. Children play in the river in this section so disappointing to see it polluted with fat.

Loads of ladybirds 🐞, different types of bees 🐝, hoverflies, wasps, and a host of other pollinators on all the wildflowers around the park at present. The knapweed flowers, hogweed seed heads, borage, and corn marigolds are popular with them.

We gave our new planting area a bit of love today. Wildflowers and sunflowers starting to come into flower. 🌼 lots of buzzing insects, even a holly blue butterfly 🦋

Pleasing to see a better and safer temporary solution being implemented on Katesmill bridge today while @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social prepare for installation of a new one.

Good job on the wall rebuild near Easter Hailes Gate on the Water of Leith walkway and fully open again. Just need Katesmill bridge sorted now. Barriers were gone again.

We need investment in our communities, creation of new assets, responsible developers who help develop our communities, not just burden them, and commercial property owners who care about the privileged position they have locally. Too much take, not enough give.

After the original attempt at fixing was more complicated than thought, the steps from the Water of Leith walkway down to Bogsmill Road are closed. They have been ripped out and will now be upgraded. 👍

Great to see this progressing. Lovely to have somewhere nice to sit where all the paths come together and also view the plants and wildlife. Very pleased to have supported this.

Too many incidents involving drivers happening on Kingsknowe Road North. This is a busy crossing point for Longstone Primary pupils. Hopefully nobody was hurt.

As part of the Hailes Quarry Park event tomorrow you’ll have the opportunity to try out frisbee golf. We’re hoping to see this becomes a permanent fixture in the park soon.

The barriers on the badly damaged Katesmill bridge have been upgraded again today by CEC.

Network Rail are expected to begin works on the Slateford Viaduct in the 4th quarter of the year. More ties required or works related the exiting ones.
