as seamless as the process of switching was to me, with my experience, i'm realizing some of the consequences of using a rolling release distro in more practical terms. i know some of the lingo. i know some of the inner workings of my OS. I know who to go to for troubleshooting and bug reports

in the case of cachyOS, once a package is updated in the repo, that's it. old version is gone. i can still go back with a snapshot or reinstalling the old version of a package from my pacman package cache, but this is only valid if i've actually had the old version on my system + cache isn't purged

learning as I go with CachyOS and what it means to be on a rolling release distro. something I grew comfortable doing in a versioned release distro like nobara is being able to downgrade specific packages on demand, and for those packages to still be available in the repos
