The thing is, as long as I have a clear enough base ( I try to make my sketch as clear as I can) I can the go over the sketch with LONG continuous strokes

Sketching is so refreshing. I love blocking things out in the lineart stage but sketching is like... Brain off, the spirit of art taking over xD

Your sketch is wonderful AND IT HAS GOOD DISTINCT SHAPES which in my book makes it god tier.

Tbh I enjoy the sketching/line process more than the rest of the drawing 😭 it's so fun to see the mess become something coherent

The brain and the hand some times don't agree.

You'll move things around small pixels hoping it would make a change

Sometimes it's gonna be like that. You just gotta make peace with the fact and move on to your next masterpiece 🫡

Ah one thing I think everyone can benefit from is

Go with the flow
It's never gonna be perfect no matter how many times you erase and redo. Just get it to a stage of being "good enough"

You'll stare at a drawing for hours not knowing what little thing about it is wrong,

Doing things in bigger strokes is also why my art looks "sharp"
Everything has a corner to it cuz thats where my stroke usually pauses before dipping into another direction

I know I say this a lot but if you break things down to shapes it helps a lot more too. U can see i use very blocky shapes for Caleb
I find doing that helps me know where my lines should start ans how long the line will be.

I think working with smaller brushes also helped tbh

Like some of my old art here U can see my lines were way more shaky

U can also always clean some stuff with the eraser later. Believe me I know this is not as easy as I make it sound. I use to have very very messy lines. Just takes practice like everything else art related

This process is usually repeated a few times until the base lines are clear enough for me to go through without lifiting the pen much
