Yeah, that’s my feeling exactly. Looking forward to whittling down my huge backlog of TCM recordings to make space for the stuff I’ll end up recording when 31 Days is done.

Thanks for the shout-out yesterday Corey. It is time-consuming, but strangely it's something I enjoy doing.

I originaly wasn't going to watch because I've seen most of them before, some of them the last time TCM showed a bunch of Looney Tunes cartoons, and yet I was instantly drawn in. So, so good.

Thanks Jesse! I love to stay on top of this stuff myself, so might as well share it.

Toronto Plex’s lists Toronto Plex’s lists

In the spirit of self-promotion, I suggest visiting Torontoplex on Letterboxd letterboxd.com/torontoplex/... or on its own site www.torontoplex.com/listings/scr... (or follow @torontoplex.bsky.social on BlueSky).

Oh yeah, good idea, though they're often not updated until Wednesday. More Cineplex showtimes could be added overnight as well.

70mm Cinemas in North America

There's a chronology of 70mm presentations broken down by city on in70mm.com that might give you some idea. Los Angeles' page is here: www.in70mm.com/country/usa/... but you can pick other cities from this page: www.in70mm.com/country/usa/...

Well cast as an asshole, but poorly cast as an American. Think they could have done better.

Okay one more: cool to finally see casting noms and one for the secret agent, which has the greatest collection of faces of any movie I’ve recently seen

David Holmes, MUSIC FROM THE MOTION PICTURE OCEAN's ELEVEN - very groovy
The Sadies, TREMENDOUS EFFORTS - Toronto alt country stalwarts

Also, the Constantines record is on the master list twice, once under Constantines and once under The Constantines. I believe the former is correct.

Some albums I plan to nominate that are not on the master list. Can someone add them?

A Camp, A CAMP - Cardigans side project
The Deadly Snakes, I'M NOT YOUR SOLDIER ANYMORE - Toronto garage punk
The Flashing Lights, SWEET RELEASE - post-Superfriendz guitar pop

These prints have gotta be the same prints that played Cinematheque Ontario back in ... 2005? Anyways, agreed about subs. I imagine the subs on the transfers on the Criterion Channel streaming service are newer but don't know for sure. Alas, Sudden Rain isn't on there for me to compare.

We also did some cultural anthropology and took in our first true British panto: a wisp of a plot, glitzy costumes, catchy musical numbers, enigmatic (to me) references, a guest star (here, Catherine Tate) reprising beloved characters, momentum-halting sidebars and a steady stream of gay sex jokes.

a comedy spin-off CHRISTMAS CAROL THAT GOES WRONG that provided lots of laughs but didn't match the lunacy of its predecessor (The Play That Goes Wrong), and a sparkling if broad (and horned-up) production of THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST with Stephen Fry in drag as Lady Bracknell.

More highlights from our London theatre outings: a lively production of OLIVER! with an outstanding Fagin (Simon Lipkin) who really works the crowd, an energetic musical take on OPERATION MINCEMEAT that doubles as a satire on British classism and sexism, ...

Top Seen 2025 My favourite new films seen in 2025 (and early 2026, if the American release date was 2025). A work in progress. Expect it to finalize some time in February.

Happy New Year! I watched a lot of movies in 2025, no doubt in part because I've been unemployed since Febrary. Still catching up on some recent releases, but for now, here are my favourite new films from 2025: letterboxd.com/captfuzz/lis...

What was the last movie or tv show you watched in 2025?

(Spending the holidays in London and finally had the opportunity to check out the game/panel show Taskmaster in our downtime. Equal parts bonkers and fiendish, highly enjoyable.)

Whenever Totoro or the Cat Bus, humongous creations operated by a platoon of puppeteers, are on stage, the show is magic. The rest of the time, it’s amiable if broad.
