This Just In: Chopstick Sleeves as Emissaries of Japanese Typography and Culture Designer and educator Angie Wang deciphers a collection of over 500 sleeves recently donated to the Archive.

“…rare books and type specimens live in the stacks alongside punk flyers and chopstick sleeves. Few cultural institutions treat both valuable and everyday objects with equal reverence. At the Archive, ephemera are no longer quite so ephemeral.”

As Kids These Days™ rediscover CDs, a good project would be a CD liner notes archive. High resolution pictures and descriptions & transcriptions of album art, lyrics, thanks, track personnel, all of it. Get living artists to comment on their choices and process. Think it'd be kind of dope.

A screenshot of a zoomed-out webpage, showing wide colorful photos of 9 hand-knit or hand-crocheted scarves. The scarves were made by Fibery Library project members, library staff who use craft methods to explore metadata visualization at the intersection of physical and digital. The scarves have visible vertical striping in irregular widths, corresponding to library checkout data for particular constituencies such as faculty
