Part 2. One for all and all for one. Every member of the White House press corps should stand never again stay silent when Trump calls one of their colleagues Piggy or tells another that she is insubordinate for asking a question.

The if is admittedly exhausting but still...IF Obama or Biden called 6 GOP officials seditious & called for their execution because they had told military personnel they don't have to obey ILLEGAL orders would the New York Times play the story on Page 16?

I can't overstate how much I despise the new editorial board of the newspaper I once loved and owe my career to.
Wondrous sandhill cranes paying their now daily visit to our block in Madison. I love seeing them but worry. Are they here because their natural habitat has diminished? Will ICE rough them up and deport them?
03.11.2025 02:06 β π 29 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0New: Democrats are ramping up probes into Trump's $300M ballroom.
@schiff.senate.gov sent a letter to the White House, demanding a βcomplete accountingβ of the ballroom's financing and terms for donors
@blumenthal.senate.gov demanding info from the contractors
more w @jonathanreports.bsky.social
And the juxtaposition: the WP reporting staff led by Dan Diamond has done great reporting on the East Wing destruction -- of which the paper's editorial biard blithely approves

My disgust with my old newspaper's editorial board in the Bezos/Lewis/O'Neal era has hit a new low. But then again Bezos money is involved; hence this pathetic argument for the golden bunker.

Philip @pbump.com is this in fact something Washpost publicists promoted? That makes it doubly sickening.

20.10.2025 22:52 β π 18 π 2 π¬ 2 π 0The video Trump posted as a king dropping shitbombs on protesters is at once the low point in American civilization; an act of degradation that aptly encapsulates his presidency; an embarrassment that GOP officials will pretend they haven't seen; and a story the bollixed media will underplay.

09.10.2025 21:03 β π 12 π 2 π¬ 1 π 0Quote: Their outcomes, along with the Courtβs actions in the last few years, carry the seeds of American tragedy. Roberts, often described as an institutionalist, has enabled the most hostile anti-institutionalist ever elected president. The leader of the nationβs judicial system has empowered the president who is the most disdainful in history of the decrees of judges, the provisos of the Constitution, and the workings of American democracy. The chief justice, attempting to thread the needle between principle and practicality, has opened the door to the possibility of the ultimate constitutional crisis: a presidentβs outright defiance of the Supreme Court.
Truly excellent new piece by Lincoln Caplan in @harvardmagazine.bsky.social on John Roberts, seen in full.
Careful, meticulous, devastating case on how "institutionalist" has enabled destruction of crucial institutions. Including his now discredited court.
