Don’t minimize it.
Don’t try to make a joke.
Don’t just say “me too”.
Don’t morph their plea into your tale.

Give them support. Ask what’s going on. Be there and be caring.

Or don’t be surprised if they stop talking.

It sucks, but so does expecting the worst of people.

Buttercream is tasty as hell, but it’s variable and some bakeries just don’t do it right. The box mix/canned icing is always good, always reliable. So to me, it wins. 😁

Betty Crocker boxed cake mix is better than a fancy homemade/from a recipe kind of cake. Same for the icing.
