MCASAโ€™s training program reaches thousands of advocates per year. Since our start weโ€™ve held over 800 trainings & conferences to support MD professionals working with survivors. Training just 1 advocate means 75 survivors will have better services. Help us keep training: https://loom.ly/szIwh7g

We're deeply saddened by the passing of former Del. Sue Hecht. A lifelong public servant, she was a fierce advocate for survivors. She was a longtime MCASA member & served as exec. director of Heartly House, among other roles. We're honored to have worked w her in the fight to end sexual violence.

Thanks to the Clery Act you have the right to be informed about crimes & threats on & around your campus, including SA. Enacted after Jeanne Clery's tragic death in 1986, due to her family's brave advocacy, this federal law requires schools publicly report campus crime & keep students informed.

A blue box below, next to a chalk drawing of a red X, has a list of text that reads: "Giving you a gift and expecting sex as 'payback;' Repeatedly asking you to do something sexual after youโ€™ve already said no; Threatening you if you donโ€™t give in to what they want; and Making you feel guilty for not having sex." A purple box below, next to chalk drawings of green arrows, reads: "Your partner does not owe you sex. Ask what theyโ€™re comfortable with and respect their boundaries. Going #BacktoSchool can mean starting new relationships or continuing old ones. Itโ€™s important to respect your partner's boundaries. Pressuring them to do something intimate they arenโ€™t ready for is a form of sexual coercion. We should all listen, discuss boundaries & practice enthusiastic consent!
