🔍 Key insight:
(1) Certain social layers—especially emotional support and leadership—are structurally closest to perceived drinking networks.
(2) These clusters enable highly accurate link prediction, offering a powerful way to study hard-to-observe health-risk behaviors.

Using a multilayer network framework, we uncovered coherent structural clusters within college social networks that help explain how social roles relate to perceived drinking behavior.

commercial-oriented fields such as dermatology or plastic surgery are highly concentrated, whereas essential specialties such as pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, and emergency medicine remain unevenly distributed in non-metropolitan areas.

We found that private hospitals and clinics are more clustered in metropolitan regions, while public facilities show broader spatial coverage but remain limited in some areas.
