I know a lot of people are skeptical of data showing better outcomes for patients of female physicians. The data summarized below demonstrate potential mechanisms for this finding, including female physicians spending more time with patients and being more likely to provide evidence-based care.

The dataset was the COVID-19 Lung CT database by Ghaderzadeh et al. but I am unsure of the access to it as I was less involved with the training. Iโ€™m sorry!

Yesterday I laid out a blanket out in the park and ate a wrap and played guitar and I think it was one of the best days of my life, not to be dramatic

For sure the people/group you work with determine the culture and lifestyle. Well said. I feel like I just keep getting told it is very difficult to maintain work/life balance in certain specialties no matter what you do.

Thank you! Of course I find a lot of fulfillment in medicine but so much of my identity and the things I love are outside of medicine, too โ€” time with friends/family, making art/music, staying active. And I want time and energy to invest in those parts of me.

My time on the internal medicine clerkship has shown me how dependent experiences are on the people you are with. Iโ€™ve been so lucky to have worked with some incredibly kind (and knowledgeable) physicians and it truly made this rotation amazing. #MedSky
