Inspired by many, many viewings with my kids, I wrote something for @uk.theconversation.com that imagines how the Arendelle glacier in Disney's Frozen might look after 200 years of climate change:

We had productive discussions about our latest publications, upcoming grants, and the future direction of the QRA. We couldnβt resist a trip to the Honours Wall, where a ladder was up to add the name of the new Busk Medal recipient: Prof Murray Gray. He joins an impressive list of past QRA winners!

02.05.2025 10:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Itβs here, but itβs bittersweet. The 2024 Annual Release of ArcticDEM and REMA strip data is officially live, and it may be the last of its kind...for the foreseeable future. Due to recent funding constraints, the Polar Geospatial Center must suspend production of these vital high-resolution polar elevation models. This marks the end of a transformative era for polar science and a critical moment to reflect, respond, and rally support. Weβve included key release stats below and details about the updated access tools now available. But most importantly: we need your voice.
Important news for users of ArcticDEM - due to funding cuts, no more DEMs will be produced for the foreseeable future. π§ͺβοΈβοΈ
