Really sad news. ๐Ÿ˜” I'm so sorry for your loss. โœจ

Which is surely in line with Disney's ultimate goal of having just 1 super rich guest per day per park, spending a fortune on upcharges, food and merchandise. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Towards the end of that mini-documentary, there's a brief mention of the Nautilus at Disneyland Paris. ๐Ÿ‘

But interestingly, there's absolutely no mention of Le Visionarium or Space Mountain: De la Terre ร  la Lune. ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Over 10 years ago, Phil Bloom (the developer of #Ratatouille) spoke about 3D projection in rides reaching a saturation point! ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ•ถ๏ธ

"3D glasses are a problem. Handing them out, collecting them, cleaning them is a hassle and they're annoying to wear."

Originally, Disney wanted the dragon underneath the castle at #DisneylandParis to be a static figure, a "stone dragon".โ€จ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Imagineer Terri Hardin had to fight for the animated figure we see today, pitching her idea to the people at the top. ๐Ÿ‰ #DLPtrivia

There's the cost of continually collecting, cleaning and distributing the 3D glasses. And then of course, replacing any broken 3D glasses.

Fascinating article. I really appreciate your transparency, how you show what goes into making your videos, the software and techniques you use. ๐Ÿ™Œ

I wish more accounts/channels would open up like this and share what they've learnt. It would really encourage and inspire other fans to make stuff.

In my opinion, the guest experience has been IMPROVED. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘

โ€ข The attraction is more comfortable to ride (without 3D glasses on your head).

โ€ข Your field of vision isn't restricted/limited (by the frames) allowing you to fully appreciate the wraparound nature of the screens.

Wow, how come it's only taking 3 days at WDW, but it's going to take 5-6 months at DLP? ๐Ÿ˜…

Oh right. That's quite some delay between actually opening and celebrating it. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Review: Ki Space Hotel near Disneyland Paris Iโ€™ve been fortunate enough to travel to Disneyland Paris many times in the past few years and have stayed in several hotels in and around the resort, from the cheapest to ones with a heavier price โ€ฆ

Didn't this already open in early 2024, or is it a second Ki SPACE hotel? ๐Ÿ˜… I remember @themainstreetnews.com stayed there and wrote a review.

Very well said. Disney used to be about quality over quantity, the pinnacle of family entertainment.

Yep. And that was just one of many reasons to cancel.

After 5 years, I've finally cancelled my #DisneyPlus subscription, for good! ๐Ÿ‘‹

In trying to become the biggest streaming service, they've lost sight of what "Disney" actually means. If everything is "Disney" then nothing is "Disney". They've essentially made "Disney" meaningless. ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

OK. Well that's good. That's how it should be. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘ So why haven't they asked for it back?

Maybe since Michel den Dulk became Portfolio Executive Creative Director for Disneyland Paris in May 2024, things have changed and there are things in motion behind-the-scenes? ๐Ÿคž

Serious question... Is there anyone who works at Disneyland Paris that has the power/authority to actually bring back De la Terre ร  la Lune? Or is that kind of stuff dictated by people in California?

I really hope that the #UniversalUK theme park coming to Bedford in 2031 includes dark rides that the whole family can experience together. ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿง’โ€๐Ÿง’๐Ÿ™

Specifically, I'd love to see a new version of the classic #ETAdventure, updated with Epic Universe's state-of-the-art animatronics tech. ๐ŸŒฒ๐Ÿšฒโค๏ธ

Definitely! ๐Ÿ™Œ I just learnt that he ALSO designed the lighting for Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland Paris, which he tried to give even more of a mood through the use of colour and stronger lighting angles. ๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ ๏ธ

I have so many questions... ๐Ÿ˜…

Is it going to have 3 shafts like the WDS/DCA design?

Is it going to have opening elevator doors at the top, so that guests get a view of the park?

Yeah! ๐Ÿ˜Š The new trains they installed in 2017, and now this new lighting design up on the roof, are both a step in the right direction. Now they just need to fix the show. ๐Ÿคž
