This photo means a lot to me. It was taken during a Game On shoot with Brenda and John Romero, people whose passion, generosity, and creativity left a lasting impression on me.

This film is a labor of love. It’s about creativity, courage, and what it means to build a career — and a life — in an industry that doesn’t always make space for everyone. Making it has reminded me why these stories matter, and why preserving them matters too.

I have been listening to Reclaiming with @monicalewinsky.bsky.social. It’s enjoyable and inspiring, with a good bit of laughs, too. I well remember the framing of 1998, how her character was absolutely assassinated. I am so inspired by her reclamation of her story/space that I had to share.

If you were teaching a 12-year-old to code today, and you had access to an Apple II, would you consider starting there? I find the “I get it!” rewards then were greater than the rewards now. I also like being close to the machine. An admitted bias.
