Renzik is not at *all* a major character for the Alliance haha

Neither Rhonin nor Tirion were Alliance, and neither Maraad nor Taylor were core major faction characters.

I was yearning for characters like this to show up in Dragonflight to showcase that Wrathion is an unconventional kind of leader, but alas, Dragonflight.

Out of fairness, I did not include characters like Nazgrim, Kael'thas, or Rastakhan because they each fall into some kind of excepted category of "written to die in that xpac" or "not a defining race character"

The list could be much, much longer if we open the requirements lol

I was talking in discord and the age-old WoW question of "How many characters have each faction actually lost?" came up, so I did a visual comparison of how many major characters the Horde has lost vs how many the Alliance has lost since the start of WoW.

The results are, well.

Well it’s a good thing Warrior already has their own tanking spec, one that doesn’t touch on these things at all lol

I would have loved to see Rhea’s last egg show up in Dragonflight, to both give a comparison to how fast Wrathion was forced to age as a result of Rhea’s experiments and to actually give the Red Dragonflight their own storyline in the xpac, grappling with their darker past.

Alas.

I love him and his ridiculous 7000 year old lifespan so much. Defies the rules of his species purely to be a hater towards Malfurion. Dies, willingly comes back to continue being a hater.

Other glup shitto contenders: Kelsey Steelspark and Tinkmaster Overspark as my favorite non-Gelbin gnomes (though both of them have notable enough appearances in BfA), and Ari from the Mage Order Hall, who I really hope isn't dead lol

My #1 Glup Shitto *used* to be Dark Ranger Velonara, but then Blizzard went and made her a Forsaken racial leader in 9.2.5 so she's actually got something going for her now lol

For my part, I have multiple but my main one is Renee Lauer, the Brill Innkeeper.

She's only involved in one single removed quest from Vanilla, but she has a whole backstory as a former Scarlet Crusader who rejected the bigoted violence of her past to live out undeath in peace.

Everyone has their favorite main story character or racial leader in WoW, but what I want to know is: what are people's Warcraft Glup Shittos?

Give me your obscure, "only mattered 10 years ago" one-off characters that you love in WoW.

In my mind no, because it would give hunters two spec dichotomies: Two ranged specs (MM/BM) and two Melee specs (Survival/Tank), and then two pet synergy specs (BM/Survival) and two solo ranger specs (MM/Tank).

(Yes, this is Kratos. I want hunters to be Kratos from God of War 2018/Ragnarok lol)

If I had the power to add a new specialization to WoW, my personal ideal would be: a Tank spec for Hunters.

2-handed with a throwing-weapon oriented playstyle, dodging as mitigation with a quick-deploy arm shield for short-term defensives. Call it something like Tenacity Hunter.

However, now that we're on the last major patch of TWW, I do have a critique - that, pessimistically, I don't believe is going to be addressed any time soon...

...that was really an expansion with next to zero openly queer rep, huh…

Just kind of a dissonant fantasy for me. Not bad at all, but the chronomancy and the dream magic don't have any moment of "meshing" other than just circumstantially being used in the same spells

MM has such a good *base* fantasy now, but it's brought down by every single character being forced to choose between Dark Ranger and Priestess of Elune.

Exactly! And especially since Shadow Priest isn't fully committing to being full void priest or full mental manipulation atm, it's in that weird middle spot of "shadowy DoT caster" that it still inhabits better than Affliction because at least it has cool stuff like apparitions and Void Torrent.

C tier the only ones I'd really say have actual fantasy issues for me, the rest are just varying degrees of "how *cool* does the fantasy actually inhabit in the flashy gameplay visuals"

Affliction is dead last simply because it's always been the lamest spec fantasy in the game for me lol

Based purely on class fantasy, and in no particular order within the tiers, this would be my spec tier list

Lmao, not only do you see the tombstones of people who have died, you also see their ghost wandering around the start of the delve now. Love this feature.
