I do a book swap every two months with an old friend, in which we send each other by post something we’ve read recently that we’ve liked. It gets me reading things I never would have picked up. Some don’t hit the mark, but good to read a little out of other people’s interests….

Just spent 5 mins trying to help a woman find the Self Help section in the bookshop, via the directory on the wall and the help desk, but fear that, Darwinistically, she won’t make it.

Definitely something going on because some sprinklers are dousing the (rain-slick) roof. Doesn’t feel like an emergency tho, it took the fire brigade a while to arrive and there weren’t many of them.

Yup. I did it one year and just did a picture/number, but I think two lines on each one is gonna help me!

On top of research reads and purposefully mind-expanding stuff there’ll be dross in there and guilty pleasures too ;)

I find doing this/following this a) interesting and b) motivating to get me reading more. I’m only getting through a lot of books right now because nothing happens in January and I’m finishing off books started last year. Hope to get to 50 in 2026.
