At some point Xbox are going to discontinue the Series S and then market the Series X as a new generation of console because now it's "unrestrained".
They could probably get Sony onboard to hold back any plans for a PS6, and together they can just run this same generation for another 8 years.

The real reason so many good shows are cancelled after a few seasons is because these streaming services now have the data to show that often 8 or 9 out of 10 people drop off by season 3 of nearly every show, regardless of quality.
They won't make season 5 or 6 when 90% of people don't even watch 4
