Animals can’t tell you what’s wrong. It’s your responsibility to watch you pet, notice signs and act accordingly. In my case he had not been eating for days, throwing up and had bloody poops. I’d say that warrants a vet visit
Glad to hear yours is doing better! He just turned 5, he had been having tummy troubles but I thought it was the food so I switched it up a few times. But I think he’s picky and didn’t like that my brother started to feed them instead of me lol

My sweet boy is okay! They said it could have been a number of things and gave us a bland diet and medicines. He might just be a nervous boy that needs to be on Prilosec
