Was looking up routine info on the Dust Bowl today on the USDA website and this is what appeared.

So they're doing a GoFundMe.

If these were normal times, I would not be unsettled by the fact that, for more than half an hour this morning, the website of the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture was inaccessible. I'd assume it was a glitch.
These being Trumpian times, it was very unsettling.
I noticed this too. Several Smithsonian sites were down or extremely slow. Also some climate-related sites.

The cat sits next to two copies of "Frankenstein" and the biography "She Made a Monster: How Mary Shelley Created Frankenstein." A feathered quill and piece of parchment sit in front of the cat.
Fur-ankenstein creator Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley was born 298 years ago today! Her novel #Frankenstein is an early example of science fiction and has influenced countless works both in and outside the genre.

Rep. Summer Lee stands in front of a sign that reads "Cost to educate one child in Philipsburg for a year? About $22,000. Your tax dollars. Hard at work for you." Parts of the sign are crossed out and edited in red, changing it to read "Cost to detain one immigrant in Philipsburg for a year? About $48,000. Your tax dollars. Hard at work for the GEO Group."
Had to stop by this sign outside the Moshannon Valley Detention Center. The GEO Group donated $1M+ to Trumpβs campaign. Now theyβre profiting off of locking up kids using our taxpayer dollars. The corruption is clear.
Thank you to the local residents, clergy, & advocates for standing against this.
"More than 300 ppl from across PA traveled to Philipsburg Sun afternoon to protest the Moshannon Valley Processing Center and U.S. Immigration + Customs Enforcement, which operates the privately-owned facility. Its capacity is 1,876, making it the largest immigration detention facility in the NE." π

The "dangerous" scene: a few young people headed for nightclubs, tourists with suitcases, folks strolling to cafes.
