Our members are not only workers & consumers, they're long-term Target investors. Our urgent request to Target's new CEO Michael Fiddelke is that he call for ICE to leave Minnesota now, warning that the company’s silence jeopardizes its brand & our members’ investments. www.aft.org/news/aft-pre...
A lot of people gathered tonight outside the Department of Veterans Affairs in D.C. for a vigil memorializing Alex Pretti, who worked as an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital.
This Wednesday, join the @fedworkersunited.bsky.social DMV Hub and local partners to mourn our federal worker and union sibling Alex Pretti outside the Dept of Veterans Affairs.

Target is based in Minneapolis and ICE is using their stores.
Hilton is lodging ICE officers, and cut ties with a local operator who kicked ICE out.
And Enterprise is renting the cars that ICE uses in their raids.

WATCH: Federal agents are being promised immunity to unleash chaos. They're surrounding our schools & threatening our places of worship.
We cannot stand by while families are separated & our neighborhoods are turned into battlegrounds.
Stand with us to stop the raids: go.aft.org/keepiceout
BREAKING: Minnesota and Twin Cities sue the federal government to stop ICE enforcement surge after the fatal shooting in Minneapolis.
NEWS: The D.C. Council just voted unanimously to decouple 13 provisions of the city's tax code from the federal code. It's a step to avoid some of the tax cuts (and loss of revenue) that would come from the GOP's tax bill passed earlier this year.
We visited more than 40 Senate offices today and it's working. We're hearing more and more Senators ready to VOTE NO on this bad funding bill attempting to sabotage DC's local budget. Now we need to see it all the way through.
Join us tomorrow (Thursday) at the Hart Atrium: bit.ly/dcs-budget
The new GOP spending bill cuts $200 million from DC Public Schools and a billion total from DC’s budget (which gets federal money because we are a colony not a state)
A crackdown on Palestinian solidarity was always part of the plan for Trump Term 2.

UPDATE—Mahmoud's attorney says they do NOT know where he is.
They were first told he was sent to an ICE facility in Elizabeth, NJ. But when his 8-month-pregnant wife tried to visit him, she was told he's not there.
They've received reports he may be sent as far away as Louisiana.
Less than one year ago, thousands of TSA employees signed a seven-year union contract. On Friday the Trump announced that “it is ending collective bargaining for the Transportation Security Administration's (TSA)” They just tore up the contract. It’s appalling

Happy International Women’s Day!
The precursor to International Women’s Day (National Woman’s Day) was organized by the Ukrainian-born labor activist, suffragist, and author of "The Diary of a Shirtwaist Striker," Theresa Serber Malkiel in New York City on February 28, 1909.
It's almost as if they don't know anything about DC.

Not great financial news for D.C.: The CFO's quarterly revenue estimate shows that for FY26, which starts in October, D.C. is expected to take in $325 million less than it expected back in December. And that repeats in the following years. A big cause: federal layoffs.
Elon Musk and DOGE are firing or trying to fire tens of thousands of federal workers who keep the essential programs that working families rely on running every day.

Last week, we took action because America is not for sale. We have an obligation to resist oligarchs who undermine our democracy.
Worker power has saved us before—let's do it again. #SaveOurServices.
