And they should go much harder, to keep this administration on its heels.

Right now, public support is heavily against the invasion, but the White House and their media outlets are going to be pushing the propaganda hard and a lot of their base will rally around Trump again soon.

Technically, if we use Mercury time, it's still day one.

Oh! Yeah, I was referring to the physicist & philosopher. While I've heard of the biologist Carroll, I haven't read any of their work to form an opinion.

University finds prominent astrophysicist Lawrence Krauss grabbed a woman's breast Finding comes day after researcher loses leadership post

If you're talking about Krauss & Coyne, I regret being the bearer of bad news (especially since I'm a fan of their popular science works)

(these are just easily sourced examples, not necessarily their worst or most definitive self-outings.)

I know this is almost certainly the media becoming servile shills for Trump, but I want this to be them trolling him into showing up to get thoroughly roasted for the entire duration of the event.

Because Bluesky has genuinely good blocking protocols & he blocked me.

I don't like that it makes it harder to prove my point, since I didn't think to grab screenshots, but I do think it's good for protecting people who block people they need distance from.

Double edged sword, as it were.

For better or worse, I neglected to screenshot @smallbluebubble.bsky.social using the "r" word as a slur.

Failure on my part, really, but I'd encourage anyone still engaging with him to demonstrate it isn't in a reply to me.

Truly telling that the @smallbluebubble.bsky.social blocked me after he dropped the "r" word a couple of times & never could defend using that as a slur.

If your a follower of his, you should think about that aspect of their personality & whether or not you're okay with othering people like that.

I'm genuinely curious what he thinks it means to "make it in life", so I can compare it to what I have actually accomplished in my life.

@smallbluebubble.bsky.social is such a courageous boy. He bitches & whines, then blocks after replying.

Look, I'm a fan of replying, but you don't try to post a "winning argument" before you block, you just block.

As has been repeatedly demonstrated: retreating to trying to use my *chosen name* as an insult against me proves you've emptied your load & have nothing left.

Also, @smallbluebubble.bsky.social, you used the "R" word as an insult entirely unprompted. Yeet yourself into the sun, bigot.

For anyone who missed it, here he is getting so perturbed that disagreeing with him deserves a slur about one's mental capacity.

Oh, no, you absolutely took the "worst take ever" prize when you decided to insist that people calling you out deserve the "r" word.

I will happily drink your beer, as you don't deserve to get it back after that fuck up.

Can you please be mature enough not to bring out slurs in your replies?

I'm sure you don't mean to ostracize the neurodivergent by lazily tossing around a slur as an insult instead of actually thinking for yourself.

How is it a "thing", point out the AI in the physical world.

Also, define "information", because I think we have very different understandings of what that term means.

For example: I think "information" is repeatedly demonstrably correct. AI doesn't provide that.

That's enough for me tonight.

We're only human.
But our humanity is worth fighting for.

Don't let the horrors compromise yours.

Rest when needed.
Fight when you're able.

And never let the bastards get you down.

We're in this together.
That's the only way through.

The Supreme Court doesn't care if you want to copyright your AI-generated art The highest court in the US declined to review a case about copyrighting artwork created with the help of AI.

And BOOM goes the dynamite. To all the AI Bros who have slid into my mentions to tell me that you CAN in fact copyright AI materials, the Supreme Court has told you to go suck rocks. A prompt is not authorship. And if there is no author, there is no valid copyright.

Okay, it's been 6 days without anyone giving any horrible news about Sean Carroll, so it stands to reason we can keep him as one of the good'uns?

I'd like to hear more from Virpi Lummaa about evolutionary biology but, unlike Jerry Coyne, she seems to stick within her areas of deep expertise (menopause, vaccination, pre-industrial Finland and Asian elephants). On her specialities she's very engaging.

03.03.2026 04:13 — 👍 1    🔁 1    💬 1    📌 0

I'mma look her up, because even if her expertise is more narrow than "evolutionary biology", that still sounds interesting. Also, I love elephants. All the elephants.

AI is not a person, place, or thing.

Also, given that you cannot reliably obtain true information from an AI, true information cannot "be obtained" from an AI.

If you're going to commit the definition fallacy, please spell "definition" correctly.

The least you can do when committing a logical fallacy is succeed at passing a 5th grade spelling test.

There are at least three, convenient that you left out the ones you don't like. And even then, definitions are *descriptive* not proscriptive. Do not engage in the dictionary fallacy again.

By the way, the fact that your screenshot starts with "1." for the definition you're hype fixated on?

That proves there are other definitions you are choosing to hide because they prove you wrong.

That's how dictionaries work, kid.

If a source is merely where something can be obtained, Donald Trump's lower intestinal tract is a reliable source.

Since I don't think any thinking person agrees with that, we can disregard the laziest of google searches & try to better ourselves, instead.
