It’s just like adding reverb these days. It’s almost second nature. You create spaces with reverb that you couldn’t manage at the time.

Why spoil an entire really well played “that’s the magic” take with an off hit snare. Also pitch comes in, retuned bits, may need the snare to hold different tone
