I find it funny that they flex the game being emulated but they don't show gameplay footage, they only show the title screen. Even if they could play it, how are you going to complete the National dex without trades and access to the GameCube games. You have to do all this per Pokemon not in FR/LG

Im probably going to convince my friends to get the game so we can all work together on our Pokedex and even hold Tournaments for FR/LG since modern games are so easy to get a hold of hacked pokemon and Everyone has to work with what pokemon they catch in FR/LG and maybe the GameCube games
