Hypernova's R1 opponent in SWS was Takoyaki Party. Game 1 was played on Barnacle, and Rusu picked Neo Splash.

We took lead early, but they took it back & KO'd us after THIS play. While reviewing, I was blown away! 🧵

I also want to call out, Rusu used strikes 6 times this game.

✅Often used to cancel Crab Tank
✅Often used to support a teammate's fight
❌NEVER used solely to cap Zone.
✅Always had a specific goal.

Often, players use strikes only to retake Zone, and not for the powerful tool they can be.

Smaller esports orgs who are willing to give a space for Splatoon to grow have nothing to lose

It can be a powerful symbiotic relationship if it’s done right

depends on the context and the people who show up in the games. I’d lean towards no just cuz I personally would much rather sq or scrim but opens with a team and trying to get a high power is practice at the end of the day weather you take it serious or not you are still playing together as a group

a few updates- not gonna be shipping internationally anymore aside from canada. I've also got nothing new to show but I've been working hard on making plenty of new things that I wanna show yall soon, so make like a banana and keep them eyes peeled for that

I wanted to briefly speak on the idea that top players won't let you use off meta weapons mostly because I feel I have a very important pov here. I started using Dread late last year and at the time I did, no one had gotten a tourney win or anything in either scene with it. The weapon was entirely unproven and seen as dogshit by a lot of high ranked players for being a worse bucket, or zones cheese spam, or too slow for the meta or whatever. However when I won the first tourney I did with it, I had no trouble practicing and using the weapon in that environment. Maybe its different lower down, I have no idea honestly, and yes I obviously still had to get good results with it first, but I think in general you prove yourself as a player first before anything. But the idea that you can't play these weapons is just wrong, I had multiple groups play with me and I only struggle to find them now because the groups I had are now on teams (which obviously makes sense to prioritize) and I am picky on the comp I want built around my weapon. That's totally fine.

I wanted to talk a bit more about playing off meta at top level Dread is not the first time I've done this either. I tend to push off meta or unproven weapons when I notice they work for me results wise, and I am totally up to giving advice for others pushing their own weapons on how to make it here
