In Portland for Pokemon regionals last year they canceled a lot of side activities due to low participation.

In Seattle for regionals this year I literally can't get in to any of the side activities I want to do because they sell out by 9am.

Seattle is really into the N64 Mystery Game Tournaments.

Unless they make substantial changes to the NSO versions, these are not going to become a way to have cool online battles with your friends.

A lot of people don't seem to realize that there aren't any multiplayer modes in Colo or XD that use your in-game teams that don't require a GBA with a Pokemon game to link up. The only NSO-compatible multiplayer mode in these is the quick battle mode where you're assigned a random team of 4.

Quick Battle is the only multiplayer mode in XD that doesn't require other games to be linked up via gba. Can't use your team for that.

Using the GameCube adapter for Switch (for Smash Bros), you can use the GBA to GameCube Advance cable and use a GBA as a controller for the NSO GBA games. What if...

I can't believe the majority of adult Pokemon fans don't remember a world before Pokemon existed.

I think some people are less familiar with the battle system or refuse to use excessive healing items so they prefer to be stronger in levels and one shot everything

I also think Johto's E4 is just not very difficult in terms of what you have to fight. Nothing in there is bulky so if you just bring healing items you can get through with a pretty stupid team (like me with 3 grass types). But Cynthia legitimately challenging even if you bring Dialga.

I think the difference is people just prefer VS Seeker and immediately jump into mindless grinding instead of spending more time in Johto doing phone rematches. But you don't have to do nearly as many to catch up with E4 as you would need VS Seeker matches to reach late 50s or 60.

Its amazing that HGSS/Johto is the one with this reputation for having a level jump to the E4. I got through Victory Road with Pokemon level 38 and the first E4 is 42. In my notes 4 Diamond, reached E4 at level 49, Aaron's highest is 57. But I don't hear people talk about a notorious jump there.

Fun fact this team was supposed to have Tangrowth instead of Heracross but I don't hate myself enough to try to finish HGSS on a time crunch with 4 grass types.

Is the Elite Four usually an issue for people in HGSS? I know people talk about level jumps but I want to make sure I'm representing it right. Where are the level jumps in the game that people have trouble with?
