Work in progress, drawing the Tree card in procreate on my ipad.

The finished result showing a curvy tree at night in the moonlight. The full moon is shining and stars are twinkling in the sky, there's a path meandering through the grassy landscape into the distance past the tree..

I started working on a Lenormand deck (similar to tarot but only has 36 cards) recently! I'm enjoying it so far. This here is the tree card!

Quick digital sketch of a heath land landscape ib warm greens, oranges, purlples and pinks (it's a sunset scene). I'm doing a series of the same landscape but trying different brushes and colour palettes. In this sketch I tried some new brushes and a different way to draw the foliage of the birch trees that are a focal point in the center of the landscape.

Same landscape and more or less same colour palette as the quick sketch from 2 days ago, but I tried a few new brushes. Was especially interested to find a different way to do the foliage of the birch trees…

Working on my ipad on an illustration of the mountains in Switzerland. I collaged my grandparent from an old photograph into the illustration and recoloured them into shades of red and pink, they are sitting on a small wooden bridge across some water in front of the mountains.

Working on some art inspired by my ancestors. Experimenting a bit with combining digital drawing and collaging parts of old photographs and recolouring them. I think I like the result…

This was based on reference pick of the ‘Heide’ (heathland) in Belgian Limburg, the area of Belgium where I was born and most of my ancestors are from. These days we just have a few national parks left with this landscape but for centuries most of the land looked like this. I want to work on a series of ancestral landscapes…
This a sunset landscape with vibrant oranges, magenta pinks and purples. A rolling landscape with colorful heather, a sandy path curving towards the horizon and a few big trees dotted in the distance.

A 40 minute quick sketch. I need to do more of these quick studies. Put on a timer and some nice music and just go for it without too much thinking. The result often feels so much more dynamic than anything I spend hours or even days working on…
