Everything that’s happened over the past six months has been a response to an imaginary crisis. There is no immigrant invasion. No trade crisis. No scientific or governance crisis. Just people completely high off their own supply trying to fundamentally reorder society. None of this had to happen.

Jerome Adams-cutting telehealth coverage is a step backward. Telehealth increases access for seniors, people with disabilities, rural communities, the immunocompromised
And it helps kids in school
Cutting telehealth won’t make America healthier.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The coordinating committee of Defend Public Health, an all-volunteer network of physicians and other healthcare workers, scientists and public health advocates, issued the following statement in response to today's U.S. Senate vote to confirm Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services:
"The Senate today confirmed Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the most unqualified person ever chosen to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, but the fight to preserve and expand compassionate, science-based health policy does not end with his confirmation: This fight has only begun. We hope Mr.
Kennedy will reconsider his embrace of disinformation and conspiracy theories, but if he follows through on the ideas he's embraced in recent years, many will
suffer and die, and the senators who voted to confirm him will have blood on their hands.

"The HHS secretary represents just one piece of a very large federal health and research apparatus. The Trump administration has been attacking science, hiding data and destroying compassionate, life-enhancing public health policies on many fronts, and we will continue to oppose these potentially deadly actions every way we can.

1. Pace yourself. Things are awful, but you cannot sustainably stay in a doom spiral.

2. Don’t reinvent the wheel. Organizers have been in these spaces for years. See what is already happening and how you can help.

3. Don’t feel guilty for taking care of yourself. Step back then rejoin when ready.

The Firehose Effect Don’t let Trump’s deluge daunt you

Dan Rather quoting @rebeccasolnit.bsky.social :

β€œ...no alternative to persevering, and that does not require you to feel good. You can keep walking whether it’s sunny or raining. Take care of yourself and remember that taking care of something else is an important part ..."
