We’re getting in touch to let you know we’ll be carrying out work near your home soon to keep the railway safe and reliable. The work will involve using handheld and mechanical tools, and lighting for the safety of our workers.

The work will take place on the following dates and times:

Saturday 17 January 20:15 to Monday 19 January 06:00

We work around the clock to keep the railway running smoothly for passengers and freight. Our work is often noisy, late at night and on weekends. The nature of the tasks means we can't prevent all noise, but our teams will try to minimise this as much as possible. We're sorry if we disturb you.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. You can reach our dedicated 24-hour National Helpline at 03457 11 41 41 or visit our website at https://www.networkrail.co.uk/communities/contact-us

Network Rail are planning work at Hatfield - Scrap Clearance at Potters Bar to Welwyn North.
NB there are no trains on Sun 18 Jan: greatnorthernrail.com/service-upda... (also late Sat 17).

House building must be sustainable, by being served by rail. All but one of the first 12 ‘new towns’ is already rail-served or the subject of rail proposals. Strategic planning, integrating land use with transport planning, is necessary to identify more. www.railfuture.org.uk/article1924

The Railways Bill will establish Great British Railways with the tools and authority it needs to make the railway deliver for passengers, freight and taxpayers but it is worrying that many politicians think that the job will be done when the law is passed. www.railfuture.org.uk/article1925
