Another image of Ruth Glacier and Ruth Gorge, Denali National Park, Alaska

One of my favorite images from Alaska - Ruth Gorge, with Ruth Glacier leading eventually to Denali. The glacier is one mile wide and drops almost 2,000 feet over 10 miles. The granite cliffs are up to 4,900 feet high. The scale is hard to imagine.

Here is another false color infrared image from Robert Y. Pratt Preserve at Ebey's Landing, Whidbey Island. The previous image was taken up on the bluff, while this was taken down near the shore line. The bluff consists of glacial till from the Cordilleran ice sheet that once covered Puget Sound.

Here is another image from the local 4th of July Rodeo that I attended this year. This image shows a rider in the barrel racing event.

I have been attending a local 4th of July rodeo for over ten years (off and on). I always have a blast! This image shows the first contestant in the bareback riding event. He did great!

The small town rodeo at Sedro-Woolley on July 4th is always a pleasure to attend. Getting there early allows getting a ring side seat to all the great action. The contestants, assistants, and animals, are all very impressive!

Skagit River (south fork) estuary, Washington. The Skagit River drains a large portion of the North Cascade Mountains, and even drains some of the southern Cascade Mountains of British Columbia. This estuary is slowly being restored.
