just don't stay on an outdated win10 install and potentially add to the growing problem of botnets attacking the internet. if you can get LTSC and keep updated or want to move over to win11 then this isn't an issue, live your best life.

if you enjoy competitive multiplayer games with kernel-level anti-cheat and don't mind win11 then do what makes you happy. if you play single-player or co-op games with non-restrictive anti-cheat like me then linux is easy and a good option. i am not very good at these things and had no problem.

the other 1% is anti-cheat multiplayer, some of which have no problem with proton

bazzite is very good and not easy to break. mint is good. cachy is good. all are very easy to set up.

your nvidia card will not explode. there may be a slight performance decrease that is actively being worked on.

with win10 EOL coming up and discussions about linux gaming i'd like to say some things from my (very basic) viewpoint:

steamOS is not for your desktop. it is made for steam deck.

most modern popular distros require no terminal fuckery

99% of the time proton just works and is very easy to use

there should be a place that i can go to to pet friendly horses. and maybe goats and pigs.

i've had such bad luck and bad knowledge (my fault) with arch that i won't use it any more. i ran manjaro for a while and that was a shit show, then i tried endeavour when that was the hotness and the pacman randomly broke in a way that i couldnt fix. i'm chill with atomic fedora via bazzite for now

i think CachyOS is wonderful and a much needed force in linux gaming but i cry every time arch is suggested as a first-time distro.
starting with arch is being thrown in the deep end. some will swim and become much more knowledgeable than i am (which isn't hard). others will sink and never come back

there is one exotic for every system, it can be any configuration of ball exotic or a squid instead. if my figuring is correct there is a 1/29 chance of the exotic being a squid. realized this morning that there are color combos too but i don't think those count? open to input if if missed anything

space magic :) but really i used to fly an exotic with a tall top fin, it wouldn't have any problems on the way in but going out it would knock around on the doors and sometimes get turned completely around and go back into the freighter lmao. i believe they've fixed that since. maybe.

did a bit more ship hunting the other day. this is a cool one with some decent sc slots. almost the parts i want, looking for a blue or white royal like this with a clam tail instead but the red and silver is nice. bonus floating islands paradise planet, no crazy temps but is nice and rainy.

i'll have to find the recipe! it uses a combination of starches to replace the eggs that works really well. and almond milk instead of dairy. they keep really nicely too. my friend who has been vegan since the 90's developed it, he is the best cook i've ever known

that's a good question. i think it's a few things, biggest of which is vr still being niche so beat saber is a niche of a niche. and if you're into beatleader it's another niche deeper. the biggest bluesky beat saber feed that i know of has 27 followers now. the crowd is just small, especially here.
