Iβve really enjoyed birding at Landguard regularly this autumn. Yβday was great, with Jack Snipe & Long-eared Owl amongst 50+ species. Today was epic! A self-found Yellow-browed Warbler then the magic moment of relocating a Pallasβs Warbler with Will Brame which he & Bill Mackie had found earlier.

Sketches of a White throated Needletail, a species of large swift. They are in graphite and watercolour. The swift is large bodied with scythe shaped wings and a small stubby square tail. The body is brown with a pale throat, large white horseshoe shape under the tail area. The upper parts have a white patch on the back. The wings are black with areas of blue green iridescence. The bird even looks fast!

Needletail sketchbook pages. I made the decision to draw up afterwards as I just wanted to watch the bird. I also struggled to climb the castle pathsπ #UKbirding #birds #birding #birdart #sciart #art

After the second βheard onlyβ Yellow-browed Warbler in two days, this time at Landguard, it was great to find that this immature White-tailed Eagle was performing to order at Trimley. What a bird! We may see the species more often now than in the past, but every one remains special. #ukbirding

One of the most incredible WTF!! moments I have witnessed in 41 years birding Belvide. 8 White-rumped Sandpiper on the north shore between 4pm-5.30pm. Just short of a British Record of 11 on the outer Hebrides. Thought I'd lost the plot when I saw them. Still pinching myself. #UKbirding

Our group refound the East Yorkshire White-throated Needletail at Bempton Cliffs this afternoon. Unbelievable moment when it shot through as we were watching a Barn Owl! Raced down to cliffs to relocate and initially no sign, but it then reappeared and we had it flying over our heads π€―π€―
