Six months on and another chance to see veteran folk rockers Steeleye Span ( there appears to be no stopping Maddy). Their recent albums show just how good their writing still is.

Chris While & Julie Matthews were one of the first folk acts I saw back in the days of The Albion band and I think it was here in Bristol. I hope also to catch up with them in the New Year as they are appearing at the two festivals in Australia I am going to.

It's been some time since I have seen Belinda and Heidi aka O'Hoolley and Tidow. This tour is their "Farewell for Now" tour as Belinda is to venture out solo whilst Heidi goes to University. Good luck to both of them for the future

its been a great year so far for "new " music and the year is not yet over. Tonight is Scotland's turn with music from Eabhal, a five piece band who released their second album a couple of years ago. New to me but I'm promised a great evening.

I saw Carrie Martin in March at Tetbury Goods Shed and knew I wanted to see her again. The opportunity for a double session at the wonderfully quirky Temperance was not to be missed after last night's gig with Daisy Chute

Another evening, another new act. Hands of the Heron have been on my radar for some time but I haven't been able to see them until now. The Bristol based trio released the third album at the end of last year. Another new venue tonight in the Front Room, Weston-super-Mare

When I saw that my Aussie friends The Weeping Willows ( Laura and Andrew ) were playing a double header with the excellent @tomorrowbird.bsky.social I knew it couldn't be missed. Especially as it was a house concert at Kingsmead House Concerts.

I've seen Lady Maisery and Jimmy and Sid's Christmas show before but they have decided to venture out in warmer times to celebrate summer under the collective name of Wakefire. You just know that with these five it's going to be a great show at @stgeorgesbris.bsky.social

Tonight it's one of my favorites artists , Irish songstress Cara Dillon and her husband Sam Lakeman. I think Ant is extremely chuffed to have managed to book Cara for Downend Folk and Roots tonight.

When artists come over from Canada and play two gigs within a short distance of each other, all be it a week apart , it's only sensible to return to the Chichester campsite to see the fantastic East Pointers. Support tonight by Saije, an award winning Australian folk duo

It's been some time since I saw Adam Beattie and Fiona Bevan's together. I believe she was in the US when I last saw Adam. This is a new venue to me but only 10 minutes from the campsite so could be a good place if I can get more than one gig in a trip. @Spring Arts, Havent

One of the highlights of this year's Celtic Connections festival was Frigg with the BBC Scotland Symphony Orchestra. The band don't come over from Finland nearly enough so a chance to see them tonight locally is not to be missed at Wiltshire Music Centre
