If you are going to QIP this year, make sure to attend all the tutorials! The line-up of speakers looks fantastic! And I know that Cambyse is cooking something great for his tutorial, this will be a unique opportunity to learn about the exciting field of quantum Gibbs sampling!

That it will mostly be useless for combinatorial optimization applications, as one typically is interested not in expectation values (the usual output of EM), but assignments. What do you think of this β€œmyth”? And where would you place the meter? I recall @zoltanzimboras.bsky.social making some 2/3

Very interesting! This is a topic close to my heart, so I will read it in detail and certainly have a few more questions after that. But here is a first one: I generally agree that error mitigation will be useful in some relevant regimes (I am now even working on an EM paper :)). But I still feel1/3

Many Brazilian restaurants offer so-called β€œtrivial dishes” on their menus. But you have to be careful when ordering them: the cooking is often left as exercise to the patron.

Indeed! Let me maybe add to Alvaro’s comment that you can efficiently implement this adiabatic algorithm and we show that the preparations is efficient for sufficiently local, high temperature states!
