A packed house for Snow Patrolโ€™s Gary Lightbody discussing his book The Forest To the Path. A book about grief and his fatherโ€™s death, it detours through loneliness & creativity; unsaid questions and conversations. Made me think of: โ€œGive people their flowers nowโ€™, instead of waiting for eulogies.

The Velveteen Rabbit opens today. Woke up feeling like it was Christmas morning. I know itโ€™s probably not always like this but writing for theatre has been one of the least stressful, most fun experiences Iโ€™ve ever had as a writer. So excited to see everyone on stage tonight.

Spring Seaweed:Feamainn Bhealtaine Spring Seaweed stands as both a vital record of Irish island life and a timeless collection of essays from a master stylist โ€“ one that rewards both first-time readers and those returning to discoverโ€ฆ

This looks interesting - a name from my school days, Martรญn ร“ Direรกin. I learned about him as a poet but Spring Seaweed includes his essays. Translated by Micheรกl ร“ hAodh, who seems to be at the heart of many efforts to ignite interest in Irish language authors.
