I love the colorful crud after soldering. When I started metalsmithing, in high school, I used to cover my pieces in lacquer after soldering in hopes of maintaining this color. FYI, it didn't work. It would rot from underneath and dissolve the lacquer. Lessons learned.

This ring is a little hard to capture in photos. The dark stone is called Purpurite - a manganese phosphate mineral. It is very dark, almost black and then flashes an intense deep purple color when you least expect it!

Melted some metal and stocked up on these solid silver cuffs made with all of our silver scrap. We use a combination of sterling, argentinum, and fine silvers. These are hefty sand cast pieces that will last longer than you will. Perfect hand me down pieces!
