When the longest government shutdown in U.S. history threatened food assistance for millions last fall, NALC members raised $526,538 for food banks.
First up: National Hero of the Year, Christopher Perez of Westchester Merged, NY Branch 693, who noticed smoke in a senior community and sprang into action, rescuing a man from the balcony of his burning home.

When Branch 4645 member Noah Wygal smelled smoke & heard cries for help on his route, he didn't hesitate to help. Drawing on his experience as a volunteer firefighter, he stayed calm & extinguished the blaze with nothing but two milk jugs & quick thinking, saving a woman trapped in her apartment.
On International Women’s Day, NALC proudly honors every woman who wears the letter carrier uniform — past and present — for their dedicated service. Every day, the women of NALC deliver for communities across the nation, and fight like hell for their fellow letter carriers!
Today on Capitol Hill, NALC President Brian Renfroe briefed the bipartisan House postal caucus on the Protect Our Letter Carriers Act (H.R. 1065) and the best path to improve Postal Service finances.
