Supporting elections that can offer such options would be a better place to start, surely?! Remaining in the uK union clearly denies such opportunities. Deciding post Indy which clubs & alliances we wish to apply to enter is for then. Otherwise assessing risks of in or out is somewhat facile.

My take on this: the battle is won, but the war is not.
There will ALWAYS be more to do to defeat the far right.
Never get complacent about that fact.
Turn out to vote in ALL elections. EVERY time.
Keep the fight going between elections too, online and in person.

Where have we seen this before?
Or even better: UK should dump the meaningless fiscal rules in favour of one rule prioritising employment, with the other eye on inflation.
UK govt industrial strategy postponed, now to almost a year after the election. Industrial strategy is the only way to develop a serious and green growth plan...but apparently not a priority. Quite bizarre.

This really captures the severity of the situation. Great piece @nathantankus.bsky.social.
This is good
The US already sells all its production, so this can only be disruptive.
If the EU somehow buys more from the US, it just means other buyers shift from buying US production to buying from whoever lost sales to the EU.

The Scottish Government's Permanent Secretary, JP Marks, is leaving to lead HMRC.
He's looking forward to raising the revenue needed to fund government spending. 🙄
I don't suppose there's any hope of finding a replacement who understands that UK Govt spending comes first, then the revenue returns.
From 14 mins what this international currency expert has to say about keeping Sterling. It's quite technical so a few listens is recommended😁 This expert was commissioned by the Welsh Senedd to investigate the optimum currency plan for an Indy Wales. Spoiler, it's their own!

Is NO place for profiteering...
What does independence mean?
Making our own decisions.
What comes next?
How do we put our decisions into action ie how do we pay for them?
Next, do we have maximum control or are we handing control to other states or bodies by using their currency?Independence and our own currency go hand in hand

I don't know what is worse:
- that 27 people wrote a letter to defend Baroness Meyer for twice calling Lord Dholakia "Lord Poppadom"
- or that we have no way to attempt removal of her from the Lords - the recommended 3 week suspension would be enough to trigger a recall petition in the Commons.

I completely agree with this but it seems somewhat at odds with Mike's support for Keir Starmer, knowing he has donors representing foreign states, and he is now busy selling Britain to Black Rock, DP World(the real reason Louise Haigh had to go), Chevron, Exxon Mobil etc.
