"The War in Iran was started by WOKES!"
Colin from Portsmouth says that the war is a ruse by carbon neutral lobbyists to put up the price of oil so we all start investing in green energy.
For no particular reason, I'm listening to Billy Bragg's sing from 20 odd years ago "The Price of Oil". Hmm...
Right I know this is shocking, but guess what? The Oxford Congestion Charge is seeing LESS congestion and MORE people taking the bus. Try this one simple trick etc etc.

In the news today, a cyclist on the pavement who killed a man is charged with manslaughter.
By contrast, here's a van driver who killed a little girl. He was driving on the pavement: common, and illegal. Killed her. Only charged with dangerous driving. Fully let off.

Today we have published new analysis building on the Committee's advice on the UK’s Seventh Carbon Budget.
Our conclusions about the cost of decarbonising the UK and impacts on energy security were tested against different scenarios ⬇️

Remember guys, you can’t afford a gas rig, or a coal mine, or a nuclear power station, but you can afford to put some cheap solar panels on your roof.
That’s why the fossil fuel industry has spent billions trying to kill renewable energy.
The dealer needs to keep you addicted.
Not by any means a hot take, but one manifestation of car dependency is the clamour, in the face of fossil fuel price rises, for lower fuel duties. A more rational clamour would be for rapidly and substantially reducing our reliance on fossil fuels.
“and could unintentionally reduce safety” …for which there is no evidence whatsoever.
"Tranist orientated development" next to Watford Junction - the future GBR should really build on that car park. It would cause uproar as Britain loves to protect its heritage when it comes to car parks.
This Opin is 100% true.
Ask anyone in the UK how the EU Commission is appointed, or to explain PR: crickets.
This frustrates me so much. In the UK some councils kept what they put in during covid (most did nothing). Here new crossing is going in (good) but just resurfacing the old shared path. Temp path on road shows where bike path should be! I pointed this out at our cycle forum when plans released...
An unexpected benefit of London's cycle lanes...our would-be Dalek overlords are able to take an afternoon stroll with their human minders, unimpeded
Is this the name of the international baseball tournament thats on at the moment? Oh no, thats the World Baseball Classic (or is it the new name for the [US] College Football Playoff or a new indoor soccer league?)
Well done Italy! Deserved result. First win ever against England, who seem to be getting progressively worse with each game of this 6 nations... France up next. Great...
Scotland-France !!! Great performance from Scotland, France now falling apart - forward pass in the in goal area from Dupont !?! Bonkers.
Good. Blocking new homes next to a tube station is ridiculous. www.ianvisits.co.uk/articles/may...
The British media really need to start describing him and his party for what they actually are.
Fuel Duty has been frozen, and therefore cut, for 15 years in the U.K, turbocharging transport emissions and starving local councils of grant funding to repair our crumbling roads.
It’s been a disaster and it’s beyond embarrassing that any mainstream party would campaign to maintain the freeze.
It does seem to be a real lottery whether local politicians 'get' sustainable transport irrespective of political affiliation. I know our (Watford) Lib Dem cabinet member for sustainability etc. would not like that messaging from national Lib Dems.
So, I like the Beryl bikes scheme we have in Watford but right now only 2 bikes are available near Watford Junction, Watford High Street and Watford Met stations - at rush hour...
Only seen this in one location so far near where I live. Annoyingly, there are two EV chargers in that road the driver could use!
I know it’s only Tuesday and there’s a new World War on, but this is still the stupidest thing I’ve read all week
"The feedback from residents was overwhelming and they made it clear these proposals would not reduce congestion in the area which was a key issue for the community."
Banned myself from using my car for local journeys a couple of years ago. I have shops, stations etc. within a 15 minute walk or cycle. I used to drive a lot of those journeys (most people do). My car died a couple of months, so now car free. Train-bus commute takes longer but WFH half the time.
Isn't Britain "full up" ? As some tell us.
Witnessed this from a bus yesterday in the Hayes area of outer London. Old guy on a mobility scooter forced into the busy main road due to no dropped kerbs on the footway. So wrong.
Given parts of the British media's bizarre obsession with immigration numbers, apparently, there are 240,000 ""ex-pats"" in UAE, many wanting to go back where they came from. Are these people not immigrants (and/or tax dodgers) ?
Hate this tv advert, advertising that a Range Rover can easily drive up a staircase - pedestrian infrastructure.
Well …
Agree with Peter V'Landys but can't see the smaller clubs voting for their own demise. Rugby league in England could/should be bigger.

In Watford our Beryl bikes scheme has bays on wide sections of footway as it is funded by Watford Council, not the highways authority Herts CC. 1st fine of £10 for parking outside a bay, 3rd time banned from the scheme so compliance is very high, meanwhile cars block pavements...
