They've had a few deprecations that make it a non-starter for me. Occasionally I'd use TW purely as a helper library by only enabling certain core plugins but you can't do that anymore. You also can't safelist classes which I'd use for CMS generated content.

Huh, I wonder what happened to my Best Practices score on the latest run. It's now 96 (down from 100) but pagespeed.web.dev is still showing 100.

Ethnic supermarkets are my happy place. Theres something about a wall of gochujang or spice packets that never fails to put a smile on my face!

Playing It Takes Two and a couple of other games with my non-gamer wife made me realise how many gameplay mechanics I take for granted.

A lever on the wall? A loose item in a static environment? A vague note at the beginning of a level? All likely to be keys to progression.

I had some TP Link ones in my old flat that didn't have a great layout for coverage. I don't remember having any problems with them, pretty much set and forget.

It's times like these that my imposter syndrome disappears without a trace. No way would I get away with a borked UI like this.

I displayed an open graph image and had to pay how much?! - Alistair Shepherd A media company demanded a license fee for an Open Graph image used on my twitter archive. I gave in and paid it, but what does that mean for open graph images and copyright?

New blog post! πŸš€

A few months ago a media org demanded a license fee for an open graph image I linked. I paid the fee because I was worried, but it raises serious questions about open graph usage on the web!

This goes through how it went and my thoughts.

The pessimist in me sees the proliferation of low quality physical goods and is expecting the same story but worse in the digital space.

Stop animating everything! Earlier this week, a friend shared a β€œreally cool website” from a design and dev agency (I’m not going to link to it, don’t ask). Nearly every single element on the page was animated in some way. Every heading animates it’s letters as it scrolls into the viewport. Images spin and slide and flash. Card components have a subtle bouncing effect. They use a custom cursor that has a very distinct β€œflip” when you hover over interactive elements.

Honestly, it was remarkably fast. Turku hospital was very empty compared to every UK hospital I've been to.

- I feel fuller for longer (apparently your stomach empties slower), but my acid reflux is worse.
- Less headaches.
- Taste changes, sweet stuff can taste too sweet, salty stuff can taste too salty. It's actually kinda handy when I cook the food and can compensate but slightly annoying eating out.

I just finished week 8 on Wegovy. It's certainly been helping, although with some minor, unexpected side-effects.

Dear BigCommerce, an un-configurable select list of 24 hour options is NOT a useful Timepicker component.

Yep, it's completely down to the app maker to not take advantage of the users trust. OS level notification classification is one thing AI might actually be half-decent at, not that they'd ever attempt something potentially useful to users with no clear ROI.
