Art is how I process the things I can’t quite put in words. Coating these pieces in gesso feels like preparing a sanctuary for all the ideas swirling in my head right now. I’m thinking about how nature is our truest home, also grappling with the distress of seeing people hurt in the name of faith.

It made me think of that, too. 😉😆😆

Look! I got some California Dutchman’s pipevine to start in my backyard! Seriously, this is my third or fourth attempt, so I’m incredibly proud of myself. 😂

A magical moment on the trail yesterday: an unexpectedly close encounter with a great blue heron creekside. Usually we just see them as they fly away like at the end of this video but this one gave a few moment to take in its beauty first.
